Where technological progress is concerned, ME has always performed exceptionally well. Otherwise the company would not have been considered a pathfinder and pace-setter in the field of agricultural electronics for over 30 years. Müller-Elektronik helped to design and shape the ISOBUS technology right from the start. In the course of our company’s history, we have developed ISOBUS control systems for nearly every type of machine. What’s more, our ISOBUS terminals and control computers have proved themselves in tough real-life conditions for over ten years.
ME’s efforts in relation to the standardisation of the Agricultural BUS System (Landwirtschaftliches BUS-System – LBS), the forerunner of today’s ISOBUS, were recognised in 1999 with the award of the Max Eyth Medal to Mr Rudolf Buschmeier. Just two years later, in 2001, ME launched the first ISOBUS terminal – the BASIC-Terminal – at Agritechnica. And in 2003 ME was one of the first to develop the important software component, the TASK-Controller. This function was introduced in the BASIC-Terminal TOP. It was only logical that ME should be the first company to receive official certification for the TASK-Controller.
However, ME has also enjoyed real success in the area of field sprayer control systems. Building on the TASK-Controller and accurate positioning via D-GPS, ME was able to introduce the ISOBUS-based SECTION-Control automatic section control system. We have now offered this technology for many years and our general approach has been accepted as the standard for field sprayers with larger working widths. However, GPS-assisted section control based on ISOBUS cannot yet be taken for granted, even with well-known manufacturers.
